CUT TO: INT. PROFESOR REMEMBERS ROADHOUSE & BAKERY CAFE – DINING ROOM WAITRESS PAT (taking Jimmy’s order)

            Last, but hopefully not least?

JIMMY: I’ll have The Prof’s jumbo cheeseburger, fries and a mo….

Marie Scapelli

We SEE Jimmy stopping mid sentence. He’s distracted by a brunette in shorts and top who walks by his table and sits two tables away. She’s alone.

ON JIMMY, he can’t take his eyes off this beautiful girl.

WAITRESS PAT: Mocha…?

JIMMY (in the clouds): Huh?

WAITRESS PAT: Mocha what?

JIMMY: Whaa…Oh, mocha…mocha malted shake.

WAITRESS PAT: Is that everything?

JIMMY (staring at Marie): Sure is.

PERKIE (nudging Jimmy): You O.K. Cuz?

JIMMY: I…ah…ha…who is that girl? (tips head in Marie’s direction)

PERKIE (his back is to Marie): Who?

JIMMY: There, behind you.

PERKIE (looking over his shoulder): I don’t know, but I’d love…

CATHY (jostling Perkie shoulder to shoulder): That’s Marie Scapelli (to Perkie, playfully), keep your eyes front and center mister.

JIMMY: How come I’ve never seen her?

CATHY: You remember our sixth-grade teacher, Mrs. Davis?

JIMMY: How could I forget?

CATHY: Mrs. Davis is Marie’s grandmother.

JIMMY: Does Marie…Scrappedi live in Statesville?

CATHY: Scapelli…

JIMMY (carefully): Sca-pel-li.

CATHY: Does now, at least until her folks patch things up.

JIMMY: She going with anyone?

CATHY: Well lickity split Jimmy; she’s only been here three days.

JIMMY: What did you say?

CATHY: She and her Mom moved in with Granma three days ago.

JIMMY: No that split thing you said.

CATHY: Lickity split?

JIMMY: Yeah, lickity split. I like that.

CATHY: It’s just an expression…like “quick as a wink”.

JIMMY (in his own world): Lickity split…lickity split…

CUT TO: INT. PROF REMEMBER’S – DINING ROOM – LATER
Jimmy and friends are finishing off their meal. Jimmy is writing something on a napkin and consulting with drummer Hand Jive who is intermittently tapping out a rhythm pattern on the table. Pat the waitress is clearing Marie’s table. Marie is sipping Professor Remember’s Elev N Lime, still alone.
